izzy was founded on the belief that human-centered design can positively impact the lives of people. And people can positively (or negatively) impact the environment. So does that mean that design and the environment are inextricably connected?
Logic problems aside, we believe good design has a responsibility to the environment, on many levels. Part of that responsibility stems from our love for people—including future generations—and our excitement for all of the ideas and discoveries that lie ahead. They make ensuring a healthy, sustainable future well worth our while.
The obvious impact of manufacturing on the environment is another concern. We focus on making smart choices when it comes to materials and processes, using recycled and recyclable materials, as well as processes that support clean water and air, and use minimal energy. We make a difference through smart decisions about lean manufacturing and where we make our products. We also make a difference through how we design our products for lean manufacturing, and through our NOTDOT philosophy (No One Thing Does One Thing).
